Join me as I learn to cook Cream of Mushroom Soup over a camping style fire pit grill. Whether your looking for camping recipes or something for the home cook, this cooking vlog will be sure to hit the spot.

Cream of Mushroom Soup Recipe:
4 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Oil
2 Onions (small/medium), diced
4 Cloves of Garlic, minced
600g Fresh Mushrooms (about 21 oz)
4 tsp Fresh Thyme, finely chopped
1/2 cup Dry Red Wine
6 Tbsp Flour
4 Cups No-Salt Chicken Broth (or low salt)
1 Tbsp Beef Bovril (liquid)
1 Cup Heavy Cream (35%)
1-2 tsp salt (to taste)
1/2 to 1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper

1. Heat butter and oil in large pot over medium heat.
2. Add onion and saute for 2-3 mins until softened.
3. Add garlic and saute for additional 1 min until fragrant
4. Add Mushrooms and 2 tsp Thyme, cook for 5 mins
5. Pour in wine and cook for 3 mins, or until wine is reduced
6. Sprinkle mushroom mixture with flour, mix well and cook for 2 mins. It should look and feel like thick sludge, don't worry.
7. Add chicken broth, mix thoroughly. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low to simmer. Season with 1 tsp salt (lower if using low-salt broth), pepper and Bovril.
8. Cover and let simmer for 10-15 mins, until thickened
9. Stir in cream. Allow to gently simmer again. Then season to taste (if needed).
10. Mix in remaining Thyme and serve
