In 1952, KFC opened it's first franchise in Salt Lake City, the Korean War was entering it's third year with 3 million US soldiers stationed in Korea and one in three families had a television set in their house. If they were to turn on the TV, they would have been watching THE TODAY SHOW, I'VE GOT A SECRET or THE JACKIE GLEASON SHOW.
