Is surfing a tsunami even possible? And have people done this before? Thanks, Audible! Start listening with a 30-day trial and your first audiobook plus two Audible Originals are free when you go to http://audible.com/whatif or text whatif to 500-500

The biggest wave that someone has surfed on was 24.4 meters tall (80 feet). It happened in November of 2018. Tsunamis can be around this height but for our purposes let's go a little bigger and say ours is 30 meters tall (100 feet). But if you want to surf on a tsunami — and we don’t recommend you do it — you’ll most likely have to travel to Japan or the Philippines.

"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we go nowhere." — Carl Sagan

Produced by Underknown in Toronto, What If is a mini-documentary web series that takes you on an epic journey through hypothetical worlds and possibilities. Join us on an imaginary adventure — grounded in scientific theory — through time, space and chance, as we ask what if some of the most fundamental aspects of our existence were different.
