Hurricane Nadine To Wreck Havoc After Hurricane Milton Batters Florida
TAMPA, Fla. — The National Hurricane Center is currently tracking another disturbance off Florida’s east coast following the landfall of Hurricane Milton.

Milton struck the Gulf Coast of Florida late Wednesday as a major hurricane, fluctuating between Category 4 and 5 since Tuesday. However, it slightly weakened to a Category 3 storm by Wednesday. The storm left millions without power and water, and parts of the state experienced tornadoes that caused significant structural damage. Even the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, home to the Tampa Bay Rays, suffered major damage as high winds tore off its roof.

Now that the storm is moving away from Florida, local authorities are beginning damage assessments.

In a Wednesday advisory, the NHC reported monitoring a new system approximately 300 miles from Bermuda. There is currently a 30% chance of the disturbance developing into a cyclone over the next two to seven days.

"Environmental conditions are becoming less favorable for tropical or subtropical development today as the system moves northeastward at around 15 mph," the National Hurricane Center said. "Upper-level winds are expected to become too strong for further development tonight or Thursday."

Since the system hasn’t reached enough strength to be named, it remains unnamed for now. However, if it strengthens, the next storm will be named Nadine.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Leslie continues to move across the North Atlantic, with projections showing it will not impact the U.S., according to the NHC.

So far, there have been 13 named storms this hurricane season, which officially ends on November 30th in the Atlantic.
