Sanding the sequence: When sanding the exterior of my wooden bowl I like to use a ball for backing support. I let a little air out of the ball first so it's not too hard and conforms to the inside shape of the bowl better. I sanded the sequence using just four grits this time. I started at 80 grit, then 100 grit, 120 grit, and finished with 150 grit. The key is to not linger on one spot too long, you don't want to overheat any part of the bowl and create cracks, especially in the end grain.
