This video discusses the Concept of ray equation and ray path in an optical fiber. Derivation of ray equation in graded-index fiber is shown. The Ray path for a homogeneous medium is derived using the ray equation. Pulse dispersion in graded index fiber is less than that of in step index fiber. To study the effect of refractive index gradient on pulse dispersion, we must know the ray path. First, we need to find out the ray equation using Snell's Law Then, the solution of the equation would give a ray path.
