Once Upon A Dream was composed by the Sammy Fain and Jack Lawrence for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. They based their song on an earlier composition by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for the 1890 ballet, Sleeping Beauty. That piece was titled Grande Valse Villageoise, and is known as The Garland Waltz. This arrangement is included in Level 4 on the RCM Popular Selection List, 2022 edition. Pianists may choose to perform a popular selectivo in place of one Etude during their RCM adjudication.
