One reason that Brampton is one of our favourite railfanning destinations in Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area is the constant passing of Metrolinx' GO Transit service through the station on the Kitchener GO Line. (There will be a pilot expansion of two trains per day to our hometown of London in a few weeks; but that's another story...) In between catches of freight traffic and the occasional VIA Rail train, there are GO Trains running through the station every 20-30 minutes. Here are some of our catches.

At this time, there are still 8 EMD F59PH locomotives in service, down from a high water mark of 49 in service in their heyday. We were lucky enough to catch two of them on this day. The other locomotives seen on this day are Motive Power Industries' MP40PH-3C models, which have been entering service since approximately 2008. Our catches were spread between the OBRY diamond and the station itself, as we wandered back and forth between the two locations throughout our day.

Also included in this video are various photos of our trip to Brampton along the CN Guelph and Halton Subs. You'll see a view of the Stratford Yard, with some very vintage Ontario Northland freight; GO Transit MOW equipment on a siding at the Guelph Station; a view from the bridge of the OSR line in Guelph as we depart the station; a quick picture of the Georgetown GO and VIA historical station; and, finally, pictures of the power on our train, VIA 84 (VIA #919 and VIA #910).
