"200,000 euros in 6 months", "Now it's your turn", "Join the group" - in Youtube videos that have been viewed millions of times, dubious guys try to lure as many users as possible into WhatsApp groups. In these groups users recieve investment advice for high-risk bets on price fluctuations, raising the hope of becoming rich quickly and without much effort. CTRL_F reporter Christian Deker tried to get to the bottom of this phenomenon. Who are these people behind the spurious videos? Did they really get rich through internet market trading? And how dangerous is this gambling really?
The search turned out to be a lot more complex than expected.
