In this video I show you step-by-step how to make a burnisher for flush setting gemstones.

Supplies You’ll Need:

Flex Shaft
Broken Drill
Steel Files (not used in your jewelry making)
Sandpaper (320, 400, 600)
Quench Water
Polishing Compounds (white diamond, greystar, red rouge)

If you do not have files other than your jewelry files, I recommend buying some cheap files from your local home improvement store. They'll run you about $10 USD for a set and will last quite a while.

Once you've made your new tool, you can use Jett Sett or Thermoloc to use as a handle when you're burnishing your flush setting. Or, if you have a graver handle, you can use that to hold the burnisher. If you don't have any of these options, simply hold the burnisher with your hand. It will be a little short, but it will work.

I hope this video helps you in your tool making for stone setting! Please like, share and subscribe. If you’d like to see more videos like this, I’d love to hear suggestions in the comments below.

Cheers!
