Why do food deserts exist in urban areas? What is food insecurity? From Los Angeles to New York City, access to healthy food is a huge problem. As grocery store chains leave neighborhoods communities struggle to find a solution. Chef, podcaster, entrepreneur, and community leader Candace Boyd decided to BE the change.

Through her podcast Black Girls Eating, Candace is helping people reconnect with their future culture and history. Empowering people to understand their story, and learn how to cook along the way. Candace also helps run a community garden and market, as well as a small business selling her own spice line.
