Designed by families, for families, the expanded Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is customized to meet patient and family needs. This video shows the journey from the initial concept to finished project, with comments from nurses, physicians, and the most cherished voices of all, our children and families.
In fact, children and teens from Youth Advisory Council, parents from the Family Advisory Council, and our care teams came together to create an environment that is both state of the art -- and fun! Kids and families helped pick out comfortable furniture and bright colors, as well as engaging designs on every floor. We've created a children's hospital like no other in the region featuring 144 single patient rooms, restful spaces (including a healing garden) , a unique interactive discovery zone, and an emergency department nearly double its previous size. More than just a beautiful building, the expanded Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children provides hope, joy, and comfort -- giving our patients and families the promise of even better days to come.
