Sibling Groups are one of the largest population of kids within the foster system. 75% of foster children have biological sibings. Most foster parents however, are only licensed for one child.

So, what do we do when sibling groups come into care? How do we know if we can and can't, should or shouldn't take a sibling set? Are there times where a sibling set just isn't a good fit for our home? What do studies say about foster sibling separated from their biological counterparts? How does trauma influnece placements? Mental health? Age gaps? Kids from hard places?

In this video, I will answer the following questions from my experience as a foster parent who has been licensed for fifteen years:
1) Why are there so many sibling sets in foster care?
2) Why do biological parents keep having children when one or more children are either in foster care or have been adopted, the bio parent deemed "unfit to parent"?
3) When are some times that taking a biolgical sibling is NOT a good idea?
4) What are 3 Ways Sibling Sets enter our homes?
5) 9 Reasons TO take a sibling or a sibling group (Includes studies & statistics on the benefits)
6) My FINAL THOUGHTS - Personal thoughts from my experience as a veteran foster parent
