Archival research is a critical part of building any exhibition, and we are fortunate at OHS to have access to the world’s largest collection of materials related to Oregon history through our research library. Since 1898, OHS staff have preserved a vast collection of photographs, manuscripts, oral histories, and film recordings that have been entrusted to our care. In our latest “Curator Chats” video, Curator of Exhibitions Megan Lallier-Barron takes viewers behind the scenes of the archival research she did in OHS’s research library to develop “Our Unfinished Past: The Oregon Historical Society at 125,” which is on view now through December 17, 2023. Through a conversation with Reference Librarian Renato Rodriguez, Lallier-Barron shares the work that went into creating an interactive research table that visitors will see inside the exhibition.
