On 16th February 2021, a 1930 Hudswell Clarke and Co. Ltd. steam locomotive, owned by Riga Sugar Mills in Sitamarhi, Bihar, arrived at Rewari Steam Shed. This steam engine had been used for sugarcane hauling from 1934 to 2010, after which it became obsolete due to the broad-gauge lines. As the only steam loco at Riga, it stood unique with a meter gauge configuration. Recently, in March 2022, the locomotive underwent restoration work at the Rewari Heritage Steam Shed and has now been named "Ashwani" by Indian Railways. #RigaSugarMillsSteamLoco #AshwaniSteamLoco #indianrailways #RewariHeritageSteamLocoShed
