I heard Jimi Hendrix four times.The first time was in 1965 in Rockland County as part of The Isley Brothers backup band. This was before anyone knew him as the star he would become. Even then he was unforgettable! Then in 1967 in Rochester NY as part of the tour with The Soft Machine. Then Woodstock and then the Fillmore East with Band of Gypsies, New Year's Eve 1969/1970. As an impressionable young man I found Jimi Hendrix awe inspiring!
