NEMA 6-15 outlets are most often found in warehouses, workspaces, and garages. They are rated for up to 15 amps, 250 volts, 3750 watts and cannot step down to regular 125 volts. Air compressors, space heaters, air conditioners, and heat guns use this configuration often. NEMA 6-15 outlets cannot accept NEMA 6-20 plugs. One of the other configurations that gets mixed up with this often, is NEMA 6-30. They both have two flat horizontal terminals and ground, but NEMA 6-30 is much larger in size.
