Here's a short clip of Voodoo's son, Mojo, which we saw briefly on a recent trip to the SE Oregon range. While we didnt find Voodoo ... in another area of this same part of the range and out of a small stand of juniper on a hilltop, came out this young black stallion, and recognized him as Mojo, Voodoo's 2014 son! I hadn't seen him since he was 18 months old, and was so pleased to see him again. He's growing beautifully and making his own way on the range.

We had been on the trail of Voodoo, his area of the range. We were deep in the backcountry looking for the elusive legendary black stallion with a band of all black mustangs. My friend and I happened to look in the same area and saw a black stallion briefly looking back at us among a dense juniper forest. We pursued the black phantom between the juniper trees, so briefly he stood there, we couldn't grab photos in time. He looked at us, turned his head, whinnied... and poof, he was gone.
Voodoo? Maybe... sure looked and acted like him! We searched and searched, walked along a rim rock butte hoping to catch a glimpse to get an idea of his direction of travel. We will never know for sure if that was him, but we both saw the elusive stallion, both thinking it was Voodoo.
But this stallion is also as breathtaking, so happy to see this Voodoo boy all grown up
