The following video consists of Part 1 of the 'Teach with ArcGIS for Schools' Training Course.

This video will teach you how to make interactive maps using live data in ArcGIS Online (included as part of your free ArcGIS for Schools Programme software bundle). By the end of this tutorial, you will be able to demonstrate to your pupils an interactive way for learning about natural disasters using up-to-date and transparent data sources.

Firstly, using live earthquake data we will showcase how you can easily create a map on ArcGIS Online to help your students to better understand where earthquakes around the world are located, why they occur in certain locations (analysis of tectonic plates) and how they are linked to tsunamis.

The second half of the video will teach you how to create an interactive wildfire map using data of the Californian wildfires i.e. where the fires are located and the level of risk / hazard potential.

By the end of this tutorial, you will learn how to do the following:
- Locate and download data and import it onto a map
- Displaying data in a variety of ways i.e. by order of magnitude
- How to read and understand your map
- How to save & share your maps
