Berjaya Rail has joined the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation network as part of its push to improve and develop the local rail industry, specifically the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail.

Its parent Berjaya Land CEO Syed Ali Shahul Hameed says it is looking to work with stakeholders in the rail sector to create a robust ecosystem where local companies can thrive and compete globally.

Berjaya Rail has actively engaged in the KL-SG HSR's Request for Information and teamed up with IJM Corp, MRCB, and KTMB for its proposal.

It is supported by tech partners like Hitachi Rail, Hyundai Rotem, and DB Engineering & Consulting.

The 46-odd member Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation was set up in 2017 to contribute to developing Malaysian railway systems engineering.
