I traveled from Srinagar to Sonmarg after lockdown in April during my trip to Jammu and Kashmir. During my stay, I was lucky to experience snowfall in Sonmarg. In this video, I will be covering the road travel from Srinagar to Sonmarg, Sindh river, Thajiwas Glacier, and snowfall experience in Sonmarg!

Sonmarg or Sonamarg in Kashmiri means golden meadows. The scenery has a drastic transformation in both summer and winter.

I stayed at the Hotel Village Walk in Sonmarg. The hotel has good food, great staff, and well heated rooms.

It is rare for it to snow in April however, I got lucky with the weather! I prefer to walk whenever I can and unfortunately we had to take the pony ride. There are no road signs to direct you to Thajwas Glacier. Since there are tour unions it is difficult to find your way to certain places on your own. Because of this reason we didn't do any of the snow activities as it became over our budget to try them.
