Hello friends! Sharing one of the places we went to in Johor Bahru, Malaysia (October 2023). We were actually targeting to go to Food Streets to try out local foods, but turns out that the J5 Johor Street Market is actually more on the retail side (clothes and some shoes). Though they have local foods in food trucks and they also have a food court, we are particularly looking for the usual street food.

We still are happy that we were able to go here, we learned that they are really clean in their street markets, they always have three flags to represent Malaysia and the Johor State, the third one I still need to research (hope you let me know in the comments below) and that the wet market part of the grocery here (Maslee Express) is so clean! It never occurred to us that there is a wet market in this grocery, it just didn't have that fish smell that is typical of a wet market area in a grocery. And vegetables here as well are so fresh and cheap, it is something that you will love to bring home and cook in butter and garlic (yum!). The spices here as well are really cheap like the spices/powder flavorings for beef rendang, tom yum and curry. My husband an I both thought that when we're back here and we are booked in an Airbnb, we will definitely get our groceries here in Maslee Express 😊.

Thank you for watching! Watch out for our next Johor Bahru vlogs (subscribe and hit the notification bell so you will be notified of our next upload) ☺️.
