🎥 Is it possible to capture a cinematic film with just a phone?

We’re thrilled to share "MOMENTS"- a short film we created for Sony, shot entirely on the Sony Xperia 1 VI. Our goal was to capture the essence of life’s moments without being pulled away from the present - a challenge that pushed us to rethink what’s possible with mobile filmmaking. The results surprised even us. ✨

Stand-out Features

🔍 Macro Video & Photo Function: The Xperia 1 VI’s macro video and photo function revealed details we usually overlook. This feature made us more mindful of our surroundings, enriching the storytelling process and gave us a new cinematic perspective to work with in the edit. Having such capabilities in a compact phone is truly impressive.

🌄 Extra-Wide Lens: The extra-wide lens on the Xperia helped us frame these wide-open scenes, making sure that every aspect of the Dolomites landscape contributed to the story.

🎨 S-Cinetone 4K: Shooting in S-Cinetone allowed us to fine-tune colors in post-production.

🎥 Bokeh Video Mode: We experimented with the interesting Bokeh video mode, achieving that cinematic look with beautifully blurred backgrounds.

🔋 Long Battery Life: Every year, we think the battery life can't get better, but it does. We completed multiple shoot days without needing to charge the phone once. Even a quick charge in the morning was all we needed to get back to capturing the shots we wanted. The long battery life and fast charging, really improved our flexible workflow.

🖥️ Monitor for Camera: The Sony Xperia 1 VI doubled as a monitor for our FX3, which made a real difference in our shooting process. 

This was such a unique challenge as filmmakers, but we loved every minute of it. We pushed the limits of what a mobile device could achieve, which made the story and concept all the more critical.
