Volvo are great vehicle's but unfortunately when Ford owned Volvo, they developed a Inline 5 cylinder that had ring issues due to low-tension. Vehicle has to under-go a oil consumption Step 1 test, Step 2 to verify if oil is burning. Performed cylinder bore inspection and rod bearings for scoring.

If all passes, you will need piston rings to be replaced. Here is a progressive video on my little engine 'rebuild'. Enjoy!
