I had a wonderful time getting to speak to the students at Yukon Elementary School in Torrance, California on 2/5/24. The audience was 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who have some understanding of regional history and culture. The topic for the assembly was the history of Southern California with an emphasis on Native Americans, Spanish & Mexican influence, and the turn into 20th century in early los Angeles history.
