Swing High, Swing Low

For this movie, I have upscaled the original low-resolution version to 4K adding AI facial enhancement. I added sharpening and slightly increased the contrast while maintaining the original frame rate. I then colorized the upscaled footage with 57% saturation to reduce the red flash as much as possible.

I have included a brief introduction that explains the process of upscaling and colorization.

If you'd like to skip the intro, you can go to 00:10:32 for the colorized version or 01:33:25 for the black-and-white version.

Colorization is never perfect, which is why I always include the restored black-and-white version in hopes of pleasing everyone. You may notice incorrectly colored objects, red flashes, or grey body parts. AI does its best, but it can't be 100% accurate.

"In the 1937 film Swing High, Swing Low, directed by Mitchell Leisen, Carole Lombard stars as Maggie, a hairdresser stranded in Panama. She crosses paths with Skid (Fred MacMurray), an ex-soldier and trumpet player, and moves in with him and his hypochondriac roommate, Harry (Charles Butterworth). Maggie and Skid's relationship blossoms, but their love is tested as Skid's musical career takes off, drawing him away. Tensions heighten when his old flame, Anita (Dorothy Lamour), reappears, complicating their romance. The film explores the challenges of love, ambition, and the pull of past relationships in the face of newfound success."
