The Nightmare of The Nightmare Before Christmas. This video essay is a deep dive into the making of The Nightmare Before Christmas a 1993 stop-motion film beloved by millions. In this video I explore the origins of this movie, it's development, and the wrongful attribution of the director-ship to Tim Burton. This movie is a Henry Selick's movie and I argue it should not be thought of as a 'Tim Burton movie'. I would personally go so far as to agree with Henry Selick to say Tim Burton has effectively stolen the credit Selick ought to have. Anyway, 1993 was wacky. Citations Below.
