Hassan Bano left her sister in the back yard with her leg amputated along with the bodies of other housemates to save her life. Khayyam Chauhan is aware of these stories from his childhood and the misery of the riots and emigration is in his blood. Therefore, hearing the story of an elder and his sufferings, he feels the depth of his pain.
It is important that these stories be conveyed to our younger generation so that they can understand the sorrows of their elders and older generations.
Sadly, Punjab the land of great Waris Shah, Bullhey Shah, Baba Farid, and Guru Nanak, who taught love and only love for humanity, suffered the most in the riots of 1947.
