Years ago, deep within the bowels of the National Railway Museum, I stumbled across a map of the Tyne and Wear Metro circa 1990, and the first thing I noticed was that there were four line colours: Green, Yellow, Red and Blue.
The thing is, there aren't any red or blue lines on the Metro map today... why not?
