In this video, we are going to explore the complicated relationship between the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung and the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. In a previous video I showed that Jordan Peterson has at best a poor understanding of Nietzsche. Some viewers pointed out that Peterson is adopting a Jungian critique with the implication being that this somehow makes him right. But what if I told you that Jung’s understanding of Nietzsche was actually worse than Jordan Peterson’s?

Jung's connection with Nietzsche is a fascinating tale—beginning positively with Nietzsche's writings marking Jung's first profound spiritual experience but takes a dark turn as Jung fell prey to his own irrational fears. This tension between Jung's love and fear of Nietzsche surfaces in ambivalent remarks, swinging between admiration and overt hostility. Watch this video to find out what happened.
