Another amazing piece of music from The Ring: the interlude shows the ambience of Nibelheim with the Nibelungs' motif. So, Mime, Alberich's brother, gives him the Tarnhelm, a magic helmet that he had ordered. He shows the object's powers and becomes invisible. After that, Wotan and Loge arrive and Mime tells him what his brother had done. The Nibelung comes back and mistreat his slaves (the other nibelungs).
