Girls Like Magic takes place in Los Angeles. It revolves around two neighbours who became friends. Jamie is an out lesbian who has a terrible on-and-off-again relationship with Casey. They almost argue everyday and then tries to work things out since Jamie is so in love with Casey.

Maggie and Jacob live downstairs from Jamie. Maggie and Jacob have been together in Britain since their teenage years. Maggie went with Jacob to Los Angeles so he could pursue a career in screenwriting.
