The Leftovers is one of the most frustrating, incoherent, pretentious… yet alleviating, harmonious, emotionally resonant television series in history, which, despite being one of my absolute favorites, I am often hesitant to recommend, since for you it could be a life altering experience or an infuriating waste of time. It is perhaps because of its love it or hate it nature that I have yet to see a long form review of the series here on YouTube.
And thus, this video will aim to serve as a definitive analysis, beginning with a discussion of the structure of the series as a whole, followed by a breakdown of each primary character’s arc, and topped off with a brief conclusion in which I attempt to deliver a concise thesis as to what the hell it all meant.
