These are my 39th birthday nails:) A simple design, using black gel paint, gold foil and custom made rhinestones with gel and glitter. And of course, my favorite color.. blue:)

I have tried a few gel paints and foils for this technique, but so far, the combination of these products by the local store "star-nails.gr" is the best. I cured the paint gel for 2 minutes and applied the foil. It worked like a charm..

Mind you, my white french nails are done with soak off gel polish, for two reasons. First, because I wanted to finish before my birthday and couldn't wait for normal polish to dry. Second, because if the polish is not dry 100%, it may pick some foil, too, and it would be more difficult to remove. I am not giving soak off directions, those of you who use shellac type polishes know all the steps to it, so I am focusing on the design.

I was ready by 23:50.. 10 minutes before my birthday:) And I like my nails.

Happy birthday to 10perfectnails and Yummynails, 8th of March is their birthday as well. Happy woman day to all of the ladies that are reading this right now.

Until next time,

Elena

Use a topcoat that will nor wrinkle your foil. I heard a few good things about aqua base by Nfuoh, but for me it dries slowly.. Also, youtuber Mariepassionnails used an Nfuoh "Shine" topcoat on her liquid stone nailart, and had very good results. I have tried cnd shellac topcoat over polish before, and I had no problems. I can't say it extended the wear, because these few times I didn't keep the nailart long enough, I just wanted something to cover foil, dry fast and remove easily (cnd shellac doesn't require buffing the surface before you soak it off). Nubar also has a uv topcoat in pink bottle, I have tried it over polish, and it works fine, so you never know... It may not be the right thing to do, but If you can afford the experiment, try using a soak off topcoat whenever you use foil, even on top of normal nail polish.
