I recently got my hands on two GBA SP's model AGS-101 (has backlit screens) that were described as faulty. Upon inspecting and testing them I did not find anything wrong internally (except that the left gameboy probably has a dodgy power switch). So I thought maybe the batteries were shot. That is when I decided to fully charge the Gameboys and then fully drain them with a videogame inserted and have max volume + screen brightness on to see how long the would go for.
The results were better than expected considering that the batteries already have a ~20 years life span and this is the backlit model which will drain the battery faster in comparison to the AGS-001 (no backlit screen) model.
The timer goes a bit off sync in the last half of the video, the end results is what is the most accurate!
Thanks for watching.
