They say football is a game of two halves. For Jimmy Johnstone, it was a game of two
pints, a few laughs, and a whole lot of magic on the pitch. He was the kind of player
who could make you smile even if you supported the other team.

But his legacy was
cut short by controversies, rivalry with Jock Stein, Alcohol addiction, and his tragic –
most horrible death in football history.
Let’s find out what exactly happened!
Jimmy Johnstone, affectionately known as "Jinky," was a true legend in Scottish football.
Born on September 30, 1944, he was famous for his amazing dribbling skills that just left
defenders in the dust. Jinky played as an outside right and spent 13 memorable years with
Celtic, where he was part of the Lisbon Lions, the squad that lifted the 1967 European Cup.
During his time at Celtic, Jinky contributed to an impressive nine Scottish championships in a
row and netted 129 goals in 515 appearances. In 2002, Celtic fans honored him by naming
him the greatest player the club had ever seen. He also wore the Scotland jersey 23 times
and was even a top contender for the Ballon d'Or in 1967, finishing third.
In 2004, Jinky's brilliance was further recognized when he was inducted into the Scottish
Football Hall of Fame.
