In the 1950s, the race for volume was real. With changes in music and electronics the need for louder amps was on and the ability to execute it was possible. In this video I restore a ‘56 Magnatone Maestro along with two others for reference. This was one of the most powerful amps available in 1956, and a big factor was that it used an ultra linear output transformer.
