Redwoods & Beaches Rio Del Mar, Nisene Marks State Park, Aptos California

Then beauty of Northern California is endless! I had one day to explore the area while staying in the small town of Corralitos, California which is just inland from the Monterey Bay / Santa Cruz area. We started the morning at Rio Del Mar beach where you can see the remains of a WW1 war ship the SS Palo Alto, then after a great lunch in Aptos at the Red Apple Cafe, we explored The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park to enjoy the beauty of the redwoods.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park has over 40 miles of trails and protects 10,000 of redwood forest. The entrance to Nisene Marks State Park is just 2 miles from downtown Aptos where we ended the afternoon with a great cup of coffee!
