Here's a cheap, easy way to make yourself a fleshing beam for hide tanning from entirely salvaged materials. The only power tool you really need is a drill. Scroll down for a tools and materials list.

TOOLS:
-sharpie
-measuring tape
-painters tape
-hacksaw + ryoba saw / circular saw + jigsaw
-angle iron or a straight edge and a flat surface
-sandpaper / hand sander / file / dremmel
-screws
-drill + drill bits
-safety glasses

MATERIALS:
-10"-12" diameter PVC pipe no shorter than 4.5' long
-two sticks or pieces of bamboo about 2"-2.5" diameter and 4' long
-a piece of 2x4 or 2x10, only needs to be about 25" long or so
-four screws
