Great Northern beans are a very delicious and nutritious addition to your family meal plan. We especially like them, because they are a real food and they are gluten-free and low sodium.
Using the instapot to cook our beans has made our life so much simpler and healthier because now we cook beans a lot more often.
Great Northern beans are packed with vitamins and nutrients. They are high in fiber and protein, and even if cooked alone without a meat added they are very satisfying. Also without the ham it would be very low sodium.
My simple list of ingredients:
• 2 cups of Great Northern beans sorted and rinsed
• 6 cups of water
• 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
• 2 or 3 Tbl Dried chopped onion or fresh onion if preferred
• 8 oz or more if preferred diced ham / optional
Cook in instant pot for 45 minutes and allow to release pressure naturally.
