Cosentino presents “Hexagon” the first collaboration designer piece made in Japan. When offered the opportunity to design a piece using Cosentino’s new Silestone collection Le Chic, Kubota Shigeru decided to create a design that utilizes Le Chic alone, without using other materials to showcase the versatility of the material.

Hexagonal shapes are strong, and well-balanced and can be found in nature, such as the honeycombs of a beehive, snow crystals, and the eyes of insects. In Japan, the hexagonal shape of a turtle's shell has long been cherished as the "kikko" pattern. Turtles have always seen it as a sign of harmony and long-lasting beauty. And Kubota took inspiration from the hexagonal shapes present in Japanese tradition and culture.

Cosentino is a leader in sustainable design surfaces for architecture and the home. Hexagon represents that connection between tradition, nature, and innovation.
