Knowing how to hang a heavy mirror on drywall in a bathroom is the beginning of a successful DIY project. In this video home renovation brothers Dave and Rich show how to install a mirror in a bathroom which was recently remodeled.

We show how to hang a mirror on wall without nails. We used the supplied plastic wall anchors that came with the mirror. There are multiple kinds of possible anchors and a lot depends on your wall material and the weight of your mirror.

For a very heavy mirror, toggle bolts might be supplied. For a very light weight mirror, they may only supply you with picture hanging nails. If you want to install a frameless mirror without drilling into the wall, construction adhesive - which can adhere to glass - might also be used. Follow mirror manufacturer instructions.

With the mirror we purchased, the instructions said not to use wire to hang the mirror. Instead they supplied us with plastic wall anchors to bear the weight of the mirror.

The main steps in how to hang a mirror on a wall are : measure your space, find level for the anchors, install the anchors and supporting screws, and finally hang the mirror.

We only had drywall near our anchor spots so we demonstrated how to hang a mirror on the wall without studs. It can be done with the correct mirror mounting kit or supplied anchors for only drywall or plaster.

Specifically we demonstrate how to hang a frameless mirror which presents a few different challenges as compared to hanging a framed mirror. While both follow the same basic steps, knowing how to hang a mirror on a wall requires knowing where the hooks are attached. A framed mirror is much like hanging a picture on a wall.

Hope this helps!
