This client had a MASSIVE Dolichovespula arenaria colony established in her roofline. D. arenaria are typically an aerial nest building yellow jacket species (in the same class as Bald faced hornets (Dolichovespula maculata), but they will sometimes nest in cavities as well! This was so early in the season for such an established colony, but I always contend that D. arenaria are the earliest to establish their colonies in the springtime!

This removal was performed for the client on July 27, 2022. Around that time was when I hatched Rhea-the-Rhea from her egg. So you get to see that happen and how she started from a little chick! Since now she is about 3 feet tall, and you have seen her as a juvenile in my more recent videos, you now get to see how she started here at my house from an egg!

Also making an appearance in this video is Lady Squirrel! She is still pretty young in this video, but she had already been released. But at this time she was still living in my green house. Watch her devour that comb!
