Fishing Halibut with a split shot rig is a unique way to fish for California Halibut. Most folks use the Carolina rig or the dropper loop technique. All of those fishing styles are good, but for me, fishing the split shot rig is by far the best. Fishing for California Halibut is an incredible experience and when you fish the split shot technique you will feel every aspect of the whole fishing experience.
