One of our COVID era home movies experimenting with new visual techniques.
A setting of a short story from Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities.
Music: Karakurenai by Andy Akiho (https://www.andyakiho.com). Used with permission. Performed by Rumput.
Original artwork, puppets, mask by Andy McGraw (Virginia) and I Gusti Ngurah Agung Yuda Putra (Bali, Indonesia).
Rumput produces home-made multimedia performances involving traditional and original music paired with shadow theater comprising elements of American and Indonesian traditions — crankies (scrolling panoramas), overhead projectors, and shadow puppets. We have studied and performed with several Indonesian master artists, including: Danis Sugiyanto, I Gusti Putu Sudarta, Peni Candrarini, Endah Laras, and Ubiet Raseuki.
