Columbus baptized the Paria Peninsula as Land of Grace , in the Sucre state, as soon as he saw that green thicket that was thrown into the sea, coloring it with its tones. Nothing could be more premonitory, because in these properties everything grows and reproduces thanks to the sea winds, the humidity of the earth and the infinity of rivers that circulate between its mountains, descending unleashed to irrigate the sea. Even waterfalls tumble straight into the waves in the deep Paria.

Around here we explore the Paria delta, narrow channels that lead to the sea with tides that rise and fall, with the same frequency that the female mood changes. These are the benefits of the Turuépano National Park.

These landscapes are so seductive that Salvador Paz, a Venezuelan architect, decided to leave New York to return to his town and build himself a small recycling house, as long as he looked out the window and filled his eyes with green and blue.

In these towns on the Paria Peninsula, people compete for the quality of their blood sausages and chorizos. Luisa Brito shouts from the four winds that her products from El Pilar beat those from Río Caribe and Carúpano together.

As here is the geological fault of El Pilar, the hottest thermal waters you can get are amazing, so much so that the neighbors come to peel chickens and boil eggs.
A German arrived about 50 years ago and never wanted to leave again. Klaus claims to be a carupanero. He discovered new building materials, made a new trade out of carpentry, is a student of the benefits of the climate and is always inventing some device.

But the lands of Paria return to their origins. Cocoa has always grown here, the best in the world, which is Venezuelan. So now the original cocoas from Paria are rescued and planted in Aguasanta, along with spices that had never been cultivated in these lands. Cardamom grows luxuriant, as does pepper and the sweet and aromatic cocoa that is sought after throughout the world. Calixto López is the architect of these new crops.

At Hacienda El Pilar they take great care with Creole cocoas of various strains. Cocoa plants grow in the south of the lake and also in Canoabo and Chuao. From here come the divinely well-processed vines to be exported to the world, because everyone knows the rigor applied to the processes. There are more than two hundred years of the same family - the Franceschi - cultivating criollo cocoas.
