Recording outside Kilmarnock Police Station, capturing B-roll footage for a video I'm working on about serving Police Scotland officers with criminal records.

The two officers who approached me were friendly and respectful. However, they hit several points in the #pinac bingo card: Terrorism Act (2000) and Section 43; no filming police personal vehicles and no filming into the yards if suspects are being taken from cars/vans into the station. I pointed out that if these things are visible from the public footpath there is nothing they can do to stop and I'm within my legal right to film.

Overall, I thought the staff at the station and the two officers were friendly. The staff car park was clearly signed that there was no public access , so I was respectful of clearly signed areas.

The two officers thanked me for being 'civilised', but it's all about their approach and the way they treat members of the public exercising their legal right to conduct lawful activities. When we are treated with respect, it's very easy to reciprocate.
