It's like spring came a month early and with temps of about 12-14C (55-57F) all week it seemed a fitting time to deep clean the greenhouse.

Over the winter I've been using it to house my container plants -- strawberries in pots, scented geraniums, and succulents. Their added moisture has made the moss, algae, and overall gunk issue even worse. And have you had a look at the ribbons of algae living in the places where the glass panes overlap? That needed to go.

Using low-impact and organic products I give the entire greenhouse the full twice over. From top to bottom I scrape away the gunk, and even use a new trick to clean the algae between the glass. Afterwards I apply an organic spray that will control future algae growth for the months ahead. You can get it online if you're interested in using it for your greenhouse or poly tunnel.

QUESTIONS for you:

1. Are you cleaning your greenhouse right now too?

2. Do you have any tips you'd like to share on other ways to clean a greenhouse?
