Rescue dogs "Fuku" and Take try mountain climbing!

We climbed Yataki Castle at the Iwami Ginzan ruins!

Its altitude is 634m, the same as the Tokyo Skytree!

Yataki Castle is one of two mountain castles built in the 16th century to defend the road connecting Iwami Ginzan to Yunotsu Port, which was the main source of supplies.

This mountain castle is said to have been built in 1528 on the mountaintop on the south side of the road by Ouchi Yoshioki (1477–1529), a Sengoku daimyo who ruled the area at the time.

It occupies the entire long and narrow summit 634m above sea level, and is surrounded by stone walls and moats.

From the circular main bailey of Yataki Castle, built at the northern end of the summit, you can get an unobstructed view of the road and Yahazu Castle on the other side.
