You’ve likely heard about 3D printing — but how much do you know about its application to our bodies? Human tissues can be replicated with 3D bio-printing and used to test new drugs without harming animals, personalize your treatment, and regenerate essential tissues. Imagine a world where we can print the solution to the biggest problems in the pharmaceutical industry. Kevin Vos is bridging the gap between the world of scientific curiosity and the dynamic landscape of business development. As VP of Business Development at VoxCell BioInnovation, he’s leading initiatives to 3D bioprint artificial human tissue samples. This groundbreaking approach aims to mitigate the risks associated with clinical trials. Hailing from Victoria, Kevin achieved a B.Sc. in Biochemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from UVic. He then embarked on a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Calgary in collaboration with the World Health Organization, focusing on the decontamination of personal protective equipment amidst the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
